ALLIANZ ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP ALUMNI PROGRAMME

Allianz has extended its award-winning Scholarship Programme to include a new Alumni membership group, giving scholars a platform for networking and continuous professional development after they have completed their CII Diploma studies.

Created to maintain close links between Allianz and past scholars, the programme which is available via an exclusive membership group, will encourage members to share professional advice and support.

Benefits for Alumni members will include regular blogs, Allianz news, industry updates, research and white papers, podcasts and a twice yearly online magazine.

Members will also have the opportunity to take part in open discussions through the programme’s LinkedIn Forum. They will also receive preferential access to the Allianz Partners Academy courses and breakfast clubs to continue their professional development.

Allianz Commercial general manager, Simon McGinn, announced the Alumni Programme to a gathering of 60 broker scholars and their sponsors at an event held at New Hall & Spa, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, on 3rd September.

"The success of the Allianz Scholarship Programme has encouraged us to develop this Alumni membership group, demonstrating our long-term commitment to raising professional standards across the industry,” said Simon.

He adds: “Our aim is to nurture a lifelong passion for professional development. The programme will strengthen and maintain a close relationship between past scholars and with Allianz, building on the great business network they have gained through their time with us.”

The Scholarship Programme, launched to Commercial lines brokers in 2012, enables scholars to achieve their CII Diploma in Insurance in 18 months with access to first-class tuition, revision sessions, free study texts and networking opportunities.

The second intake of Commercial lines scholars began their courses in May 2013 at locations including London, Manchester and Birmingham and a further 20 personal lines brokers will be joining the programme from October, bringing the total number studying to 80.

Once the scholars have successfully completed their CII Diploma on the Allianz Scholarship Programme, they will automatically be enrolled into the Scholarship Alumni programme from early 2014.

“We hope that the Scholarship Alumni membership group becomes a strong community which aids lasting and great business relationships between future leaders and opinion formers in our industry,” adds Simon.

Allianz will offer a further 30 scholarship places to commercial lines brokers in January 2014.
