David Cooper, Allianz’s head of London market property owners, will be retiring from the business with effect from 31 July 2015.
Having started his career in Manchester, David held a variety of insurance roles, before deciding to specialise in the property owners market and then joining Allianz Insurance in 2006.
Andrew Broughton, director of commercial broker markets, Allianz Insurance, commented: ‘Over the past decade, David has been instrumental in establishing Allianz as a substantial, highly profitable and credible player in this niche sector, having built a business from scratch to one with a short term £100M GWP ambition.’
David will be succeeded by John Dunn, who is currently strategic initiatives manager within Allianz’s Commercial division. He will take on his new role effective from 1 August 2015.
John started his insurance career 15 years ago, holding a number of underwriting and portfolio management roles and working across London, Asia and Scandinavia. He joined Allianz in 2012 as underwriting manager (commercial property), holding responsibility for the Allianz head office property team. In 2014, John took on his most recent role as the leader of the Allianz strategic initiatives team, responsible for delivering a number of new and innovative market products.
Andrew added: ‘We are delighted to have been able to fill such a pivotal role from within the Allianz business, and we look forward to the skill, experience and knowledge that John will bring to our London property owners team.’
Allianz Insurance is one of the largest general insurers in the UK and part of the Allianz SE Group, the largest property and casualty insurer worldwide.
