ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL ANNOUNCES REGIONAL MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Colin Bates, Allianz’s Midlands and South West regional manager, will be retiring from the business with effect from 30 September 2015.

Colin has had a longstanding career with the insurer having started at its head office in Guildford in 1997. In 2003 he made the move to Birmingham where he took on the regional manager position.

Andrew Broughton, director broker markets, Allianz Commercial, commented: “Our broker network is critical to our success as it allows us to strengthen ties with local brokers and customers. Over the last 12 years, Colin has worked tirelessly to establish lasting relationships in the region transforming our Midlands and West team into one of the most profitable and credible players in the market.”

Jason Howes, who is currently development manager based in Birmingham, will take over the reins from Colin. Jason’s new role will be effective 1 October 2015.

Jason has a strong history with Allianz having joined as a commercial underwriter in the Birmingham office, before moving to Luton. While at the Luton branch, Jason worked in a number of roles including business developer, key account developer and development manager. Jason also held the position of propositions manager (market management) at Allianz’s head office before moving into his current role.

Andrew added: “We are delighted that we have been able to fill such an important role from within our own ranks. I am sure that Jason will ably step into the void left by Colin and will continue to build and strengthen Allianz’s presence in the region.”

Allianz are currently in the process of appointing a replacement for Jason.
