Allianz confirms John Berry as new director of underwriting and technical, personal lines

Allianz Insurance has announced that John Berry has been appointed to the role of director of underwriting and technical, personal lines.

In his new role John will lead the teams responsible for underwriting, pricing and portfolio management across all of Allianz UK personal lines businesses including private car, household, commercial vehicle, animal health and legal protection.

John joined Allianz in 2015 as senior retail actuary and was subsequently appointed to the role of head of pricing, personal lines.

Before joining Allianz, John worked for both Towers Watson and EMB as senior consultant covering retail lines in the UK and overseas. He specialised in pricing, underwriting, product, data and strategy.

Commenting on his appointment, John said:

We are starting to realise the benefits of our significant investments in data and technology, which will ensure that we can deliver the highest quality of products to our customers at competitive prices.”
