ALLIANZ INSURANCE OPENS 2015 TECHNICAL TRAINEE PROGRAMME FOR A-LEVEL STUDENTS

Press release -

ALLIANZ INSURANCE OPENS 2015 TECHNICAL TRAINEE PROGRAMME FOR A-LEVEL STUDENTS

Now in its fifth year the Allianz Technical Trainee Programme is once again accepting applications from students with A-level qualifications.

The programme, specifically created for talented young people who are academically capable but who might not wish to attend university, offers the opportunity to work in the Allianz Retail division.

Candidates who gain a place on the three-year scheme are offered a salary of £18,000 per annum and given the chance to gain technical skills across many areas, including motor, home, lifestyle and animal health. Through a rotation of placements they contribute to product design, pricing decisions, fraud detection and underwriting strategy.

The technical programme combines hands-on work experience with a professional study programme, as all of the apprentices also work towards a Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualification.

Current trainee Nancy Morley commented: “I think it’s definitely worth considering the programme instead of going to university as there is so much to gain. By coming straight into the workplace I’ve developed new skills very quickly and have had fantastic hands-on experiences. The programme gives you real responsibility and I’ve been enjoying the various challenges that this brings.”

Tom Moss, Retail technical director, said: “For bright and talented individuals who wish to gain a head start in their career development this is a great opportunity to gain key skills and qualifications in a professional workplace."

He adds: “As an organisation we are committed to training and development and want to recruit and retain the best people. This scheme means that we are investing both in the future of the business and the young people we recruit.”

To be considered for the three year programme applicants will need to achieve 260 UCAS points across 3 A-levels, including a B or above in either Maths, Further Maths, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry.
