ALLIANZ’S ANDY MILLER APPOINTED AIS CHAIR

Allianz Commercial’s Andy Miller has been appointed as the Chair of the Association of Insurance Surveyors (AIS).

Andy, who takes over from Michael Fitch, is currently Commercial’s technical risk control manager. His key responsibilities include overseeing the technical capabilities, training and development of the division’s risk control team. 

His appointment extends a long running association with the AIS having been a member since its inception 10 years ago. Prior to this, Andy was a member of both the Association of Burglary Insurance Surveyors (ABIS) and the Association of Fire Insurance Surveyors (AFIS). 

Andy said: “It is a great honour and responsibility to step into the role left by Mick. Along with the AIS board, I look forward to enhancing the reputation and work that the AIS undertake. I am keen to take up the challenge of championing the development and excellence in the industry, building upon the good foundations and inspiring the next generation of risk professionals.” 

Outgoing Chairman Michael Fitch said: “I am delighted to be handing the baton over to Andy. He is vastly experienced and well regarded within the industry. I have every confidence that the AIS will go from strength to strength under his stewardship and that he will continue to promote the traditions and goals of our organisation.”

The AIS is a group of around 300 risk professionals in the UK and abroad that strives for continuous improvement and technical excellence in the field of risk management / risk engineering.
