ALLIANZ SELECTS THREE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FOR NEW ONE YEAR PLACEMENT SCHEME

Allianz has selected three individuals for its new one year placement programme which gives university students looking for industry experience the opportunity to work within the Company’s Retail division.

Samuel Obute, Lancaster University, Jamie Burnett, Surrey University, and Danielle Enwright , Liverpool University, are the first to be chosen for the programme specifically created for university students on a sandwich course who are looking to gain professional experience before graduating.

Samuel, Jamie and Danielle will be offered a salary of £21,000 and will be placed within the technical pricing team in corporate partner, broker or direct.

The placement programme will develop business and analytical skills, with candidates assisting in product design, pricing decisions and tracking business performance. In addition to the hands-on experience, all candidates will complete Allianz’s Underwriting Academy.

Tom Moss, retail technical director, said: “In today’s job market, industry experience is proving vital for graduates. This is a great opportunity for talented university students, taking a sandwich degree, to kick start their career by gaining key business skills and experience before they even graduate.

“Pricing and product development are a critical part of our business and it is important that we invest in future experts to ensure that we remain competitive. This scheme demonstrates our commitment to training and fostering talent in this area, which we are confident, will contribute to reaching our goal of being a top five insurer in five years.”

To be considered for the one year placement programme applicants needed to have been studying for a degree and achieved 280 UCAS points across 3 A-levels, including a B or above in Maths.
