ALLIANZ UK ANNOUNCES ASSOCIATION OF AIR AMBULANCES AS FORTHCOMING CHARITY PARTNER

Allianz UK is proud to announce that its new charity partner is the Association of Air Ambulances (AAAC).Launching in February 2016, the partnership will initially last three years and Allianz employees have set themselves the target of raising £1million.

As the world’s largest motor insurer, road safety is a major issue for Allianz as road traffic accidents can have a devastating effect on people’s lives. The partnership between Allianz and the AAAC will have a positive impact on the ability of air ambulance services to reach critically ill and injured people across the country giving them the best chance of recovery and rehabilitation. The fundraising will help expand the service of the AAAC by enabling them to update equipment (for example allowing for the carriage of blood), undertake further night flights and enhance clinical training.

Allianz UK will make central donations and support its 5000 employees in their local fundraising activities, engaging with regional air ambulances. Allianz UK will also work to help raise awareness.

Jon Dye, CEO, Allianz UK commented: “We are very pleased to be supporting the vital work that the air ambulances do. The charity was voted for by our employees and through fundraising activities across our branch network we can make a real impact in the local communities that we serve.”

The AAAC is a legally independent body which is designed to funnel national donations into individual air ambulance charities. It allows air ambulance charities to approach national or large regional organisations who may want to make donations to the air ambulance sector as a whole.

Liz Campbell, Chairman of the AAAC said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Allianz to be their charity partner. We share their value of excellence and focus on customers. The money that they raise will support and improve air ambulance services throughout the UK.We look forward to working with their many colleagues and having fun raising vital funds to help our patients."
