ANDREW TORRANCE TO TAKE UP NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION AT ALLIANZ HOLDINGS PLC
Allianz is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Torrance as a non-executive director of Allianz Holdings plc.
Andrew Torrance first joined Allianz Insurance as general manager of its Broker Division in 1999 and went on to serve as the company’s chief executive from 2003 to 2013. He then moved to the USA where he served as president & CEO of Fireman's Fund, Allianz's local property and casualty insurer, until the end of last year.
Welcoming Andrew back to the Board of Allianz Holdings plc, chairman Axel Theis said:
“Andrew has a huge amount of experience and a highly successful track record in the insurance industry. He is highly respected in the market and his insight and expertise will strengthen our Board. I look forward to working with him in the future.”
Jon Dye, CEO of Allianz Insurance plc, added:
“Andrew and I worked together for 10 years at Allianz and I have seen first-hand the value that he brings to the business. We have ambitious growth plans and I can think of no better person than Andrew to help advise and guide us in these exciting times.”
The appointment is subject to receiving regulatory approval.
