ALLIANZ APPOINTS NEWCASTLE BRANCH MANAGER

Allianz Commercial has appointed Mike Gill to the position of branch manager at its Newcastle office. 

Mike was previously based at the Company’s Leeds branch, where he spent nine years in his role as regional underwriting manager for the Northern region and consistently delivered strong levels of profit and retention for the business.

In his new position, he will now be responsible for leading the underwriting and new business teams at the Newcastle branch in order to maximise new opportunities in the region.

Andrew Broughton, director of broker markets, Allianz Commercial, commented:  “We are pleased to fill this position internally and believe this really demonstrates the strength of our people. Mike is already well known in the Newcastle broker market and we believe that this key appointment provides an excellent opportunity for us to realise the full potential presented by the North East.”

He added:  “Allianz remains fully committed to the Newcastle market and the process of building and strengthening our presence in the region is well underway. We have already appointed two senior production underwriters to the new team, who will join from the Leeds office at the beginning of June. We expect to finalise the remaining members of our refreshed branch and have them operating in Newcastle before the end of June.”
