Press release -

ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL STRENGTHENS PROPERTY AND CASUALTY PORTFOLIO

Allianz Commercial has promoted Catherine Dixon to the position of head of property and casualty.

The move comes as the division looks to align its approach to property and casualty insurance, particularly in the mid-corporate space. Catherine, who has a long standing career at Allianz having joined 29 years ago, will take over the casualty portfolio from Chris Dee who is taking up the role of chief underwriting officer for Allianz Asia Pacific.

In her new role, Catherine will be responsible for the division’s Property and Casualty accounts, including the Risk Control function. An area of particular focus will be developing Allianz Commercial’s mid-corporate strategy, building pricing capability and enhancing product propositions. She previously held the role of head of property insurance.

In addition, Allianz Commercial will be making two other key appointments as it looks to further strengthen its property and casualty capability. A new casualty account manager and property account manager will be appointed shortly.

Neil Clutterbuck, director underwriting and technical, Allianz Commercial commented: “Catherine has done an excellent job in delivering growth and profitability for our property business. I am confident that her proven leadership skills and wealth of experience will support the division as we focus on combining our approach to property and casualty insurance.”

He continued: “By aligning these two portfolios, we will be better placed to meet our underwriting strategy while strengthening our pricing capability and proposition portfolio. This will not only help us achieve our growth targets, but also benefit our many commercial customers.”
