ALLIANZ LAUNCHES RISK SURVEYOR APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME

Allianz Commercial has appointed five risk surveyor apprentices, as part of a new scheme, which will actively support junior risk advisors to become experts in their field.

Craig Preston, Jackie Wynne, Daniel Walsh, Geoff Kirwan and Craig Smith-Nicols were chosen from 45 applicants and will now embark on an extensive two year training and development programme.

As part of the programme, apprentices will work towards certification from The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) and Allianz’s Underwriting Academy Risk Control Level 2.

The apprenticeship scheme aims to develop both technical skills and soft skills through a combination of formal classroom training and e-learning. Apprentices will also benefit from working alongside a mentor who will support them throughout the scheme.

Stuart Daws, risk control survey manager, Allianz Commercial, said: “The launch of the innovative risk surveyor apprenticeship scheme demonstrates Allianz’s ongoing commitment to cultivate talent. “

“By supporting junior risk advisers through our apprenticeship scheme, we aim to develop the necessary skills which will give them the knowledge and confidence to effectively meet the day to day challenges of the job.”

He adds: “The addition of five new team members continues Allianz’s investment and growth in its risk surveyor’s team. Allianz now have a team of 65 surveyors and we will be looking to expand this further in the near future.”
