Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day!

In support of International Women in Engineering Day this Sunday (23 June), Allianz's area technical operations manager, Engineering, Construction & Power, Zoe Martin has shared her account of why she wanted to get into engineering.

Zoe has worked at Allianz for 20 years and is very proud to be in the Engineering team.

"At 18, Engineering wasn’t the obvious area of insurance to go into, but as a young woman at the start of my career I had an opportunity that I thought would help me to become clearer on what I wanted to do longer term.

"Very quickly, I discovered that engineering insurance was in fact, very different from the stereotypical view of an insurance role. Some 25 Years later, I’m still in engineering, and I'm very pleased to say that 20 of those has been with Allianz.

"During my career at Allianz I’ve worked in many different areas, but always stayed within engineering, Why? Because I have worked with some fantastic teams, in a variety of roles and I’ve enjoyed the challenges that I’ve had.

"I am proud to be one of the minority of women in this part of the industry, hopefully encouraging other women to develop their careers within engineering insurance."
