ALLIANZ CEO SPEAKS OUT ON YOUNG DRIVERS
"Until the frequency and severity of accidents involving young drivers reduces significantly, obtaining motor insurance at premiums they consider reasonable will be a problem.
"Exploring solutions should be at the heart of this debate and these could include enforced restrictions on young drivers using their vehicles socially late at night and restricting the number of passengers young drivers have in their cars at any one time. However, effective driver training in a variety of different scenarios and road conditions should be an integral part of any solution and this is a matter for government which I suggest should heed the recommendations from road safety experts and the insurance industry that more needs to be done."
