Press release -
Allianz UK and Barnardo’s join forces to “change childhoods together”
One of the UK’s leading children’s charities and the world’s #1 insurance brand are joining forces in a bid to change the lives of young people in the UK.
Allianz UK has announced an exciting new three-year partnership with Barnardo’s. The partnership, which will run until the end of 2026, sees the organisations come together with the aim of delivering real and positive change to the lives of children and young people.
Colm Holmes, CEO, Allianz Holdings said: “I’m happy to announce Barnardo’s as our new charity partner. Our partnerships are selected by employee vote and our people recognise the strong correlation between the purpose and values of Barnardo’s and those of Allianz. I’m looking forward to seeing all the fantastic ways our employees engage with the charity and help change childhoods together. Allianz will also match pound for pound every employee donation made.”
Allianz’s offices and branch network span the UK and fundraising is already underway with employees planning local events. Corporate activities involving teams of employees from across the country are also planned for this summer which, inspired by The Olympic Games, include a cross channel relay swim and a London to Paris cycle challenge.
Lynn Perry MBE, CEO, Barnardo’s said: “We’re incredibly excited by this partnership and what it will mean to the lives of children and young people in this country.
“The lives of children today are hugely impacted by the ongoing impact of Covid, the cost-of-living crisis and the fact that much of their lives are increasingly taking place online. More children are living in poverty, struggling with their mental health or feeling unsafe – but we’re here to help children live happier, healthier and safer lives.
“We rely on the support of organisations like Allianz to deliver support to children, young people and families across the UK, so a huge thank you to everyone who chose us to be their new charity partner – together, I know we’re going to make a real difference.”
