Press release -

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR ALLIANZ’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Following five years of success, Allianz’s award-winning Scholarship Programme will open for Commercial and Personal Lines brokers on 5 September.

The programme, which has been designed to provide outstanding learning and networking opportunities, actively supports brokers to achieve their CII Diploma in Insurance in 18 months.

Allianz will recruit 30 new Scholars to join the programme and begin their studies in January 2017. To be awarded a place, applicants must demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in insurance and show commitment to completing the programme.

Nearly 200 brokers have received first-class tuition since Allianz launched its Scholarship Programme in 2012. At the end of their studies scholars will also be able to continue their professional development by having exclusive access to the programme’s Alumni membership group.

Simon McGinn, general manager, Commercial & Personal, Allianz Insurance, commented: “Over the past five years Allianz’s broker Scholarship Programme has gone from strength to strength. Our collaboration with the CII has been incredibly successful and the programme continues to evolve to keep up with industry standards to ensure we continue to offer brokers the best route to obtaining their CII Diploma in Insurance”.

“We remain dedicated to leading the industry professionalism agenda by continually investing in the personal development of Brokers. We look forward to welcoming many more talented scholars to our programme this year.”

Allianz also recently celebrated the success of one of its broker scholars, Eleanor Chisnall, who has been awarded a prestigious CII award. Eleanor, who works for Lark (Group) Limited, won the CII national award for her performance in P93 Commercial Property and Business Interruption insurances. The prize, awarded annually is presented to the candidate who is judged to have passed with the greatest merit.

Eleanor said: “It was a pleasure to have been selected to take part in the Allianz Scholarship programme and then being awarded this prize. I have truly enjoyed the scheme and the training and support it provides for success in CII exams as well as the skills and knowledge developed for the insurance industry. The Allianz Scholarship programme is a great chance for young brokers and I would encourage people to apply.”

The programme will be aligned to both Commercial and Personal brokers this year. To apply for a place on the Scholarship Programme and for more information, brokers can visit www.allianzebroker.co.uk or contact their local Allianz contact. The application window is open from 5-23 September 2016.
